People Who Know Their God

On Friday June 26th of June 2015, the United States Supreme Court ruled that same-sex couples can now marry in all 50 states, setting off a flurry of reaction by Christians and virtually everyone else on social media and beyond.

While one part of the Christian religious faith is lashing out in anger, the other part is approaching the gay community citing how the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us to love and treat all people with kindness and civility—even when we disagree, while restating and reaffirming the doctrinal foundation of Church teachings on morality, marriage, and the family.

When a Society loses its Spiritual Identity

I believe that marriage between a man and a woman was instituted by God and is central to His plan for His children and for the well‐being of society. Any attempt to redefine it under the umbrella of civil right will only harm the moral fabric of any society that choses to do so. It’s, somehow, challenging to ask non-Christians to hold Christian values in a society that has defined itself as a “secular society”. It is important for the gay community and her enthusiasts to know that changes in the civil law or celebrity endorsement that repudiates the superiority of religious marriage above civil marriage does not and cannot change the moral law that God has established. When a society loses its spiritual identity in the name of liberty people’s immorality will be passed as laws for future generation to see as normal.

God’s Way is The Best Way.

God expects us to uphold and keep His commandments regardless of divergent opinions or trends in society. It is true that we have rights to freedom of speech. This has been immensely responsible for views for and against the judgment by Christians in the media.

However, as we exercise such rights, we must also exercise tolerance and respect toward others’ rights. Tolerance and respect does not require the surrender of noble purpose, or of individual spiritual identity and belief.

The Last Days

Eschatologically, happenings around the globe have only made true what the Bible says about end times. Jesus had this answer when asked about end times: “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Matthew 24:6.

Apostle Paul also mentioned the following warning to us: “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,” 2 Timothy 3:1-4

In these last days, we need to think through how to respond as a church when the law of the land changes as fundamentally as it’s changing on same-sex marriage and many other issues. The bible has warned us that things will only get more challenging for us as Christians.

It’s time for us believers to be strong, to stand firm for what we believe in, showing the love of Christ to everyone and anyone without compromising our Faith.

In Daniel 11:32 (AMP)  the bible says :  “And such as violate the covenant he shall pervert and seduce with flatteries, but the people who know their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do exploits [for God].”

It’s time for us believers to be strong, to stand firm for what we believe in, showing the love of Christ to everyone and anyone without compromising our Faith.

  • Amen.

  • It still lies with the people under God’s covenant to cry out of Zion, for people are becoming pervasive in the Land, saying spare your people oh Lord, our heritage cannot be a reproach. Darkness cannot comprehend the Light. Am I shinning as a light in the market place?

  • DD,
You speak the heart of the Father, the Kingdom is for all that are created in His image, no man should attempt to shut the door against anyone, our acts of love will open the door for others to join the Commonwealth of Christ. We will stand against anything that does not bring glory to our God, and we will do it in the love of Christ. We will not judge or cast stones, it’s not what Christ called us to do, we are to witness, in deed and in words, that we shall do. Thanks for sharing.

  • Nice. ..well written and expresed

  • Amen. What I despise with passion and what disgust me most on earth is “Gay”.Thank you Bros for the insights, may we never compromise our faith in jesus name.

  • i am of the opinion the church needs to pray, and reach out more to the world, sharing the gospel of faith as Jesus instructed us to, instead of keeping to ourselves, and focusing only on ourselves and money, because if we had stood our ground and ministered with determination there would be more souls in the kingdom, cos truth be told the world would always be the world.
Lovely piece sir. I celebrate you.
